A Note About the Length of News Releases

The first site above says a news release should be only one to two pages. If possible, try to keep a news release to one page. It should only be more than a page if the information is pertinent and compelling. Many of the news releases we write are about a page-and-a-half. A news release should never be more than two pages. Busy reporters and editors who receive dozens of news releases everyday don't have the time to read lengthy ones. They will decide after reading the lead and maybe the first few paragraphs whether your release is worth a story.
